Commonwealth Health
200-Page Migration from Legacy .aspx CMS to WordPress
THE CHALLENGE
What needed solving.
Commonwealth Health was operating on an outdated proprietary .aspx content management system. Expensive to maintain, difficult to edit, and impossible to scale. Thousands of blog posts and over 200 pages of content needed to be migrated to WordPress on a tight deadline. Every URL, every image, every internal link, every redirect had to be preserved exactly to protect years of accumulated SEO equity.
THE SOLUTION
What we built.
We built the entire Commonwealth Health website from the ground up on WordPress, migrating over 200 pages and more than a thousand blog posts from the legacy .aspx system. Every URL slug was matched precisely to the old system. Every image was re-uploaded with original filenames and alt text preserved. Every internal link was audited and corrected. A complete redirect map was built and implemented so no existing search rankings were lost in the transition. This was one of the most technically demanding builds we have completed. The legacy system had no export functionality. Content had to be extracted, restructured, and re-entered manually. Naming conventions were strict. The deadline was firm. We delivered on both. Post-launch, we took over managed hosting and ongoing maintenance. The site is updated regularly as the health system adds new content, staff, and services.
THE RESULT
What happened.
Full migration completed on deadline. Zero URL breakage. Zero ranking loss. More than 200 pages and a thousand blog posts moved to a platform the health system team can update themselves, without developer involvement. Managed hosting and daily maintenance running since launch.
